The Alexander Hughes Community Center is a 31,000 square foot building located adjacent to Lewis Park.  It opened in Summer 2001 and accommodates the Human Services Department Administrative Team.

Fri, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Sat, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Meeting and Activity Space Rental

The Padua and College rooms are available to Claremont nonprofit organizations only. May be reserved up to 12 months in advance.

The lab offers 9 computers with internet access. Printing is available for 10 cents per copy.

Game Room

Enjoy a game of pool or join in on a game of chess. The room is equipped with a pool table, ping pong, and a television. Board games and movies can be checked out at the front desk.

Reading Room

This warm and inviting room is filled wall to wall with books for you to enjoy. The library is also a great place to study.

ABC Preschool

Operated by Children's Source LLC, the ABC's for Me Preschool & Tiny Tots Program offers full and half day programs for ages 2-5 years. Programs are located at the Alexander Hughes Community Center and Lewis Park.

Code of Conduct

The City of Claremont reserves the right to refuse service to individuals who do not abide by the Human Services individual facility's Code of Conduct, which may be found predominantly displayed at each facility.  Individuals who are refused service for infractions of the Code of Conduct will either be refunded the prorated amount for the rest of the class or asked not to participate in recreation classes with the department in the future or be transferred to a different class.
