Area Code Public Meetings

Residents are invited to participate in the California Public Utilities Commission’s decision-making process to introduce a new area code to the area now served by the 909 area code. The 909 area code is expected to use up all available prefixes by March 2019. On April 4 and April 5, 2017, the CPUC will host meetings for local jurisdictions and the public. At the meetings, representatives will explain area code relief activities in the region.  The public is invited to join the discussion and share any concerns about these activities.
