CITY MANAGER’S MESSAGE
Last week, community volunteers assisted staff and Sustainable Claremont with tree planting in and around Larkin Park, in the area west of Indian Hill Boulevard to Towne Avenue. The next planting event will be on Saturday, February 10 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Wheeler Park.
This week, on Wednesday, City Council, staff, and over 60 community members attended the Metro Planning and Programming Committee meeting in Los Angeles to voice their support for keeping the Claremont Metrolink station. The committee voted in support of the Claremont station and will be forwarding a recommendation to keep the station to the Metro Board on Thursday, January 25. Read more in the City News Section.
Next week, on Tuesday, January 23, the City of Claremont will be participating in the 2018 Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count in partnership with the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA). Volunteers are needed to assist with this important community effort. Read more in the Human Services Section.
