City Manager's Weekly Update - November 16, 2017
CITY MANAGER’S MESSAGE
Last week, the City’s park landscape contractor began laser leveling the City-maintained ball fields. This technique provides a smoother playing surface, eliminates ruts and divots, and eliminates the lip that often builds up where the turf and grass meet. This process began at Larkin Park and will continue at Cahuilla Park, La Puerta Park, Griffith Park, Wheeler Park, and Memorial Park.
This week, the City delivered Thanksgiving Baskets to the Foothill Family Shelter on Tuesday, November 14, and distributed more than 150 turkeys at the Joslyn Center on Wednesday, November 15. Read more in the City News Section.
Next week, City Administrative offices will close at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 22 and all City offices will be closed on Thursday, November 23 for the Thanksgiving holiday. The Hughes Center will remain open until 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 22. Trash pick-up will be delayed one day due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Residents with a regular Thursday trash collection will have their containers picked up on Friday. Please have your containers out by 6:00 a.m. Normal collection will resume Monday, November 27. Emergency maintenance services and the Police Department will continue their 24-hour service schedule. For non-life threatening emergencies, such as downed trees or water leaks, please call the Police Department at (909) 399-5411.
