Pooch Park Update
The newly installed drainage system at Pooch Park did its job during the recent rains. There were no puddles or drainage issues found as staff continually inspected the park during the storm. Although construction was complete in December as anticipated, the park remains closed until the new turf is established. Staff will continue to monitor the condition of the turf to be sure it is properly established prior to the park’s opening. Staff is continuing to evaluate the growth and the Pooch Park will re-open as soon as possible.
During the closure, residents may visit other Claremont parks that are pet friendly, which include the Claremont Hills Wilderness Park, Thompson Creek Trail, Lewis Park walking trail, and Rancho San Jose Park. Residents may visit pooch parks in nearby cities, including San Dimas, Upland, Ontario, and Rancho Cucamonga.
