Earth Day Celebration/CicLAvia
On Sunday, April 22, the City will partner with the cities of San Dimas, La Verne, and Pomona to host a nearly 7-mile CicLAvia open streets event from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The popular CiLAvia event brings together thousands of people of all ages enjoying and rediscovering their community on car-free streets. The Claremont portion of the event will feature Sustainable Claremont’s 10th Annual Earth Day Celebration, as well as the Claremont Farmers and Artisans Market.
The Earth Day Celebration promises a full day of environmental education, creative activities, and exciting performances. Walk and ride along the CiLAvia route into the Village where there will be booths, children’s activities, food, music, and fun!
This year, the Earth Day event will be held on First Street and connect to the Farmers Market along Yale Avenue and Second Street. Portions of Arrow Highway, College Avenue, and First Street will be closed during the event. Notices were sent to residents and businesses affected by the closures.
