Filing Period for November General Election Begins July 16
A General Municipal Election will be held on November 6, 2018 to elect three members of the Claremont City Council. Claremont City Councilmembers are elected to staggered four-year terms, with three members elected at one election, and two at the next.
The filing period for nomination papers and candidate statements for the November election begins July 16 and ends August 9. If an incumbent Councilmember does not file nomination papers during the regular filing period, nominations for candidates other than incumbent City Councilmembers will continue through August 15, 2018. Voters can request vote-by-mail ballots between October 8 - October 30, and the last day to register to vote for this election will be October 22, 2018.
