Yes, the City provides three different sizes of black trash containers; 40-, 64-, and 90-gallon. The City uses a "variable rate" fee structure whereby customers with smaller trash containers pay lower fees. This is done in order to keep fees as low as possible as well as encourage use of the recycling and green waste programs.
Most homes currently have a 64-gallon trash container. If you find your container is either too small or too large for the amount of trash you generate, you can contact Community Services at (909) 399-5431 to deliver a different size container. There is a one-time delivery charge of $10.
While the black trash containers come in different sizes, the green waste and recycling containers are only available in the 90-gallon size.
Yes, you can get extra containers (trash, recycling, and green waste) if the 90-gallon containers aren't large enough to handle the amount of material you are throwing away or recycling. Extra recycling and green waste containers are provided at no additional fee (after a one-time delivery fee of $10) while extra trash containers will increase the amount of your sanitation fee.
Yes, residential customers can get up to two bulk item pick-ups per calendar year at no charge. Additional pick-ups cost $25 each. Appliances, furniture, mattresses, sections of metal/pipe or wood are common examples of bulk items.
Bulk item pickups are done on a scheduled basis so DO NOT set out large items until you have called to arrange a collection date. Call Community Services at (909) 399-5431 for more details on how to schedule a bulk item pickup.
