November 6, 2018 General Municipal Election
Claremont is a general law city governed by a five-member City Council. Terms of office for City Councilmembers are staggered, with three members elected at one election, and two the next. General municipal elections occur on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November of even-numbered years
The next Claremont General Municipal Election will be held on November 6, 2018, for three seats on the City Council.
The vote by mail ballot period will be October 8 – October 30, 2018, and the last day to register to vote for this election will be October 22, 2018.
The regular nomination period for candidates for Member of the City Council for this election will begin on July 16, 2018. If an incumbent Councilmember does not file nomination papers during the regular period, nominations for candidates other than incumbent City Councilmembers will continue through August 15, 2018.
