The Claremont Hills Wilderness Park is OPEN.
The Claremont Hills Wilderness Park is located at the base of the San Gabriel Mountains and the Angeles National Forest.
The Park offers a five mile walking loop and smaller trails. Parking for the park is available at parking lots on Mills Avenue and Mt. Baldy Road. Permits are required in the lots. Parking in the neighborhoods is restricted.
Park visitors should observe the rules and precautions of the Claremont Municipal Code.

Visitors in violation of the hours may be subject to a citation.
CHWP Parking Fee Increase
Effective April 1, 2017, parking fees are changing for the Claremont Hills Wilderness Park and Thompson Creek Trail parking lots on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Parking lot fees for Saturday and Sunday mornings from opening until 10:00 a.m. will be $5.00 for every four hours, and will remain $3.00 for all other days and times. Annual permits will remain valid in both lots at all times, and residential permits will remain valid at all times in the Thompson Creek Trail parking lot. These changes are part of the implementation of the Claremont Hills Wilderness Park Master Plan. Friends of the Claremont Hills Wilderness Park
Volunteers are needed to join the newly formed Friends of the Claremont Hills Wilderness Park (CHWP) group. The City of Claremont is hosting a meeting on Monday, March 27 at 6:00 p.m. at the Alexander Hughes Community Center for interested volunteers. The Friends of the CHWP will work independently on projects, as well as support the City in outdoor education and outreach, relationship with the neighbors, and the preservation of valuable open space.
