We offer reliable transportation services at a reasonable price. Whether you are commuting, shopping, going to medical appointments, or to and from school, Claremont Dial-a-Ride is available to you. Just call the same day - and pickups will typically be made within 45 minutes of your request. It's easy. Call (909) 623-0183.

Everyone Can Ride

Claremont Dial-a-Ride is open to everyone - children, youth, adults, and seniors traveling within the Dial-a-Ride service area. (Children under five must be accompanied by an adult).

Where Can I Go?

Claremont Dial-a-Ride operates within the boundaries of Claremont. Service is also provided to the medical facilities in the Pomona Valley Medical Center area as well as the Montclair Plaza and Montclair Trans Center. Dial-a-Ride offers transfers to Foothill Transit at convenient locations as well as offering service to the Metrolink trains at the Claremont Depot.

Special Group Services (Six or More)

Claremont Dial-a-Ride accepts advanced reservations, and regularly scheduled trip request from groups of 6 or more. If you would like to schedule transportation for a group of 6 or more, please call at least 24 hours in advance of your desired trip. For van reservations, call (909) 865-5184. (Reservations are subject to vehicle availability).

Share Rides and Save

Traveling with a friend is not only more fun, it saves you money.  The first rider pays the regular fare and additional riders traveling from the same pick-up address to the same location can ride for the cost of $1.00.  For example, if you and a friend are going to a restaurant, you pay only on regular fare, and the additional rider travels for $1.00.

7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Seniors, disabled persons and children under age 16 can travel 24 hours per day, 7 days a week.


Registration Requirements
Riders must be registered to use Claremont Dial-a-Ride and must provide their name, address, year of birth and phone number to register. Riders may register in person, by phone or mail. To register in person, go to the Alexander Hughes Center, 1700 Danbury Rd, Claremont, CA. The Center is open Mon - Fri, from 10 am to 7 pm. To register by phone or to request a registration form, call Community Senior Services at (909) 621-9900 from 9 am to 4 pm Mon - Fri. Those registering by mail should mail the completed form to Community Senior Services, 141 South Spring Street, Claremont, CA 91711. Riders who complete registration will be mailed an ID card with a unique identification number.

Riders under the age of 18 will need a parent or guardian's signature on the registration form giving consent to the City of Claremont and Pomona Valley Transportation Authority to obtain the rider's personal information.

Get About riders previously registered are automatically registered for Claremont Dial-a-Ride.

How to Call In

  • Call Claremont Dial-a-Ride (623-0183 or TDD 868-0611) at least one hour before your desired pick-up time.
  • Please be ready to provide your phone number and the specific address of both your pick-up and destination. Generally within 45 minutes of your call, you will be picked up and transported in a comfortable taxicab or minivan.
  • Please make sure you allow yourself sufficient time when calling in. A good rule of thumb is to allot up to 30 minutes of travel time to get to your destination since the Dial-a-Ride vehicle may pick up other passengers on route.
  • If you are using a wheelchair or other mobility device or you require any special assistance, please inform the operator when you call to arrange for your pick up.
  • Drivers cannot make change, please have the exact fare when boarding the vehicle.
  • Please be sure to inform the operator of the number of passengers traveling.

Ticket Books

Senior and Disabled (10 rides) -- $15.00
General Public (10 rides) -- $25.00

Ticket books may be purchased at City Hall, Joslyn Center, Alexander Hughes Community Center, and Blaisdell Community Building.  Riders may use old $1.25 general public tickets and $.75 Senior and Disabled tickets.  However, each one way ride requires two of the $1.25 general public tickets.  Riders eligible to use the $.75 Senior and Disabled tickets, must use two tickets for a one way trip.

Get About tickets are accepted on Claremont Dial-a-Ride; however, two of the Get About tickets will be required for a one way trip on Claremont Dial-a-Ride.  For After Hours and Out of the City rides on Claremont Dian-A-Ride, four Get About tickets will be required for a one way trip.  The pink Get About "nutrition" tickets will no longer be accepted by Claremont Dial-a-Ride.

Get About provides direct transportation for elderly and handicapped passengers. Door-to-door service is available Sunday - Friday throughout the cities of Claremont, La Verne, Pomona and San Dimas, as well as Montclair Plaza, and Doctor's Hospital area.
