Clean Power Alliance

Post Date:01/10/2019 5:13 PM

The City of Claremont has joined the Clean Power Alliance, a collection of municipalities, to offer clean renewable energy to Claremont residents and businesses through a partnership with Southern California Edison.

Starting in February 2019 for residential customers and May 2019 for non-residential customers, Clean Power Alliance will be the new electricity provider for residents and businesses in Claremont. While Clean Power Alliance will be providing power, Southern California will still deliver the power to homes and businesses.

Clean Power Alliance is comprised of 31 public agencies across Los Angeles and Ventura counties working together to bring clean energy choices to our communities. Residents and businesses in our community will be automatically enrolled into the Clean Power Alliance’s competitively-priced Clean Power rate option, Nothing else changes —Southern California Edison will continue to deliver power, send just one bill, and be responsible for resolving any electricity service issues.

Clean Power Alliance offers three rate options designed to suit the diverse needs of the community, all of which provide high renewable content at a competitive price. Residents and businesses may choose which plan they prefer or opt out of the program completely. If you opt out in the first 60 days, you may return at any time within the first 12 months with no fee. Read more about rate options at www.cleanpoweralliance.org/rates.

Claremont residents and businesses will receive four notices via mail with instructions on how to choose between the different rate options along with customer support information. You also can opt out without penalty and your electricity generation charges will remain with SCE.
