Foothill Gold Line Construction Authority announced it is proposing a two phased approach to building the Foothill Gold Line Extension. While the first phase to La Verne is anticipated to be completed with available funds, the second phase to Montclair is unfunded.

The Claremont Library is closed for renovations. A temporary library is now open at the Alexander Hughes Center from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturdays. Library renovations are expected to take six months

City Manager Tony Ramos, on behalf of the City Council, announced the selection of Tara Schultz as the new City Manager for the City of Claremont. Ms. Schultz will assume the duties of City Manager on February 5, 2018.
Residents have reported seeing bobcats and coyotes in the northern section of the city. Claremont borders the Angeles National Forest and is considered a wilderness corridor. As the City is prohibited from trapping and relocating wild animals, residents must take precautions.
