A notice has been issued by the National Weather Service for a potential strong wind event.  This event is expected to begin Tuesday, January 28 through Wednesday, January 29.  This wind event has the potential to down trees, power lines and blow debris throughout the Wilderness Park, Thompson Creek Trail, and City.  Please use caution around trees, power lines, and secure your property.  City parks will remain OPEN during this time.

Free Mulch Program

0514510Mulch-web-photoClaremont invites its residents to help close the recycling loop by participating in the Free Mulch Program. The City's tree maintenance contractor uses trimmings from City trees to create mulch, taking a wonderful community asset and making a sustainable product. Mulch helps not only to conserve water, but to limit the amount of waste produced in the community. The events will be during the fall months of October, November, and December, and again during the spring months of February, March, and April. Below are the Mulch program dates and locations for October 2019 through April 2020.

October 19, 2019 - Cahuilla Park
November 16, 2019 - Cahuilla Park
December 21, 2019 - Cahuilla Park
February 15, 2020 - Cahuilla Park
March 21, 2020 - Cahuilla Park
April 18, 2020 - Cahuilla Park

*Cahuilla Park is located at Scripps Drive and Indian Hill Boulevard

Mulch is available on a first-come, first-served basis, beginning at 6:00 a.m. on Saturday. Residents must bring equipment to load and transport the mulch. City staff is not available to assist with loading mulch.
