In April 2016, Claremont won the 2015-2016 CoolCalifornia Challenge, earning the title of “Coolest City in California”! More than 500 Claremont households participated, earning over two million points—nearly twice as many as our nearest competitor, Long Beach. Over $51,000 in prize money was awarded to Sustainable Claremont, to implement sustainability programs in the Claremont community.

By signing up, earning points, and taking steps to reduce their energy usage, CoolCalifornia Challenge participants demonstrated their commitment to saving energy and money, helping the environment, earning money for sustainability programs in Claremont, and creating a more engaged community. Congratulations on these accomplishments!
