Claremont Police Department is excited to start accepting applications for a Citizens Police Academy Class to start in January. The Citizens Police Academy is a six-week program designed to provide Claremont residents and people that work within the City with firsthand information about how their police department works and to increase understanding between citizens and the police through education. Participates will also take part in practical scenarios that simulate typical service calls. PD staff will discuss current issues, local concerns and leave plenty of room for questions and answers.
To be eligible for the Citizens Police Academy, one must be at least 18 years old, live or work in Claremont and have no outstanding warrants or pending criminal cases, no felony convictions and no misdemeanor arrests in the past three years. After completing an online application, eligible candidates will undergo fingerprinting and a background check. There is a $35 fee to cover applicant fingerprinting. There are no other fees. Participants agree not to miss more than one session.
