Pilgrim Place Assisted Living Facility

Pilgrim Place has requested the approval of a Conditional Use Permit (#18-C13) to allow an additional six-bed senior assisted living facility at 704 W. 8th Street (Assessor’s Parcel Number 8310-016-001).  The Planning Commission will consider the subject application at a special meeting of the Planning Commission on Thursday, November 15, at 7:00 p.m., in the City Council Chamber, 225 W. Second Street, at which time all interested persons are invited to appear and be heard.

The subject property currently contains a six-bed assisted living facility, a landscaped courtyard, and a garage.  The proposed assisted living home will bring the total number of beds on-site to twelve.  The subject site has a General Plan designation of Residential Low/Medium (2-6 dwelling units per acre) and an underlying zoning designation of Residential Single-Family (RS8000). The rectangular-shaped site is bordered on the north by W. 8th Street, on the east and south by the existing Pilgrim Place Campus, and on the west by existing residential development.  The project will also dedicate public right-of-way along W. 8th Street.
