The meeting was held on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at 7:00 pm. in the City Council Chamber, 225 W. Second Street, Claremont.
Notice of Architectural Commission Request for Extension of Time for Design Review Approval - Colby Townhomes
Request for a two-year extension of the approved design review plans for the 96-unit Colby Circle townhomes project located within the Old School House/Claremont Inn Specific Plan. The meeting was held on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chamber, 225 W. Second Street, Claremont.
Notice of Architectural & Planning Commission Review - Study Session Regarding a Code Amendment Pertaining to Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs)
Joint study session with the members of the Architectural and Planning Commissions to consider the direction provided by the City Council for how to modify the draft ordinance pertaining to Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs).
The study session will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at the Alexander Hughes Community Center, 1700 Danbury Road, Claremont.
Notice of Special Event Permit - Earth Day Celebration (April 14, 2019)
Sustainable Claremont, in association with the City of Claremont, hosted the annual Claremont Earth Day Celebration and Street Fair on Sunday, April 14, 2019. The event was held between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. with street closures planned to commence as early as 5:00 a.m. and end as late as 3:00 p.m. The event was located along Second Street within the Claremont Village from Oberlin Avenue to Yale Avenue with north/south streets such as Oberlin Avenue, Indian Hill Boulevard, and Yale Avenue remaining open for vehicular access.The event included food trucks, live entertainment, activities, and approximately 80 exhibitor and vendor booths.
Architectural Commission Review of New Academic Building at Harvey Mudd
On Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at 7:00 p.m., the Architectural Commission reviewed a site plan, building plans, and landscape plans for a new 36,000 square foot computer science building on the Harvey Mudd Campus. The meeting was held in the City Council Chamber, 225 W. Second Street, Claremont.
Study Session Regarding a Code Amendment Pertaining to Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs)
Notice is hereby given that the City of Claremont has initiated an amendment to the Claremont Municipal Code (CMC) pertaining to accessory dwelling units (ADUs) (#17-CA01). The proposed Code Amendment responds changed State laws that aim to facilitate the increased production of ADUs.
The study session was held on Monday, March 11, 2019, at 6:30 p.m. in the City Council Chamber, 225 W. Second Street, Claremont, at which time all interested persons can speak to the City Council regarding the proposed amendment.
Variance to Allow for a Six-Foot Tall Fence Located within the Claremont Boulevard Street Side Setback at the Corner Property Located at 451 East Arrow Highway
The Planning Commission considered the subject application at a regular meeting on Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chamber, 225 W. Second Street.
Urgency Ordinance to Readopt and Reaffirm Marijuana Regulations
The City Council held a public hearing on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at 7 p.m. in the Claremont City Council Chamber, 225 W. Second Street, Claremont, to consider adoption of an urgency ordinance reaffirming, readopting, and extending regulations contained in Claremont Municipal Code Section 9.72; and introduction of a regular ordinance reaffirming, readopting, and extending those regulations without a sunset clause.
Districting Public Hearing
The City of Claremont is considering transitioning from at-large elections to by-district elections and wants the community's help drafting district boundaries. The City's demographer presented the draft maps submitted by the community and the City Council accepted public comment. Public hearings were held at a Special City Council Meeting on Monday, February 4, 2019 and at a City Council Meeting on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at 6:30 p.m.
Proposed Community Development Block Grant Program Budget
A public hearing was held on January 22, 2019 at 7 p.m. in the Claremont City Council Chamber, 225 W. Second Street, Claremont, before the Claremont City Council to review the proposed budget for use of the City’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds for Fiscal Year 2019-2020. Any person wishing to be heard on this matter is invited to attend this public hearing and speak.
Claremont College Lot Reconfiguration
The Claremont Colleges, Inc., and Pomona College requested the approval of Tentative Parcel Map 82314 to allow the reconfiguration of thirteen parcels into four parcels in order to create clearly defined lots that reflect the existing development and use of land. The Planning Commission considered the subject application at a meeting of the Planning Commission on Thursday, December 18, at 7:00 p.m., in the City Council Chamber, 225 W. Second Street.
The subject property currently contains Claremont Colleges buildings including the Administrative Campus Center, The Honnold Library, and the Tranquada Student Services Center. The subject site has a General Plan designation of Institutional and an underlying zoning designation of Institutional Educational. The generally rectangular-shaped, irregular site is bordered on all sides by the colleges including Scripps College to the north, Claremont Graduate University to the west, Claremont McKenna College to the east, and Pomona College to the south.

Districting Public Hearing
The City of Claremont is considering transitioning from at-large elections to by-district elections and wants the community's help drafting district boundaries. The City will hold five public hearings and four community workshops to get community feedback on district boundaries. The City's demographer will give a presentation on the districting process and the City Council will accept public comment at a public hearing at a Special City Council Meeting on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at 6:30 p.m.
Inclusionary Housing Ordinance
Notice is hereby given that the City of Claremont held a public hearing on a proposed amendment to the Claremont Municipal Code (CMC) pertaining to modification of the existing inclusionary housing ordinance. The proposed Code amendment responds to Assembly Bill 1505 allowing cities and counties to require onsite construction of affordable housing (also called “inclusionary” housing) in connection with the development of market-rate rental residential projects. The Planning Commission recommended unanimous approval by an affirmative vote of 7-0-0-0 of the proposed draft ordinance at the regularly scheduled Planning Commission meeting held on October 2, 2018.
The City Council held a public hearing to consider the proposed amendment on Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber, 225 W. Second Street, Claremont. All persons interested in the proposed amendment are invited to appear and be heard at the public hearing.

City User Fee Public Hearing - City Council
On Tuesday, September 11, 2018, the City Council held a public hearing regarding the proposed increase in City user fees including, but not limited to Planning and Building fees, Police Impound fees, and Human Services Park Permit fees to cover the cost of providing City services to the community.
