Metrolink Station will stay in Claremont

On Thursday, January 25, the Metro Board unanimously voted to keep the Claremont Metrolink Station open! A special thanks to Supervisor Hilda Solis for leading the charge that allowed the Metrolink Station to stay in Claremont.

Over 50 Claremont residents including members of our business community, Chamber of Commerce, the Claremont Colleges, and members of City Commissions joined Mayor Larry Schroeder, Mayor Pro Tem Opanyi Nasiali, and Councilmember Sam Pedroza, Councilmember Corey Calaycay, Councilmember Joe Lyons, and staff at the Metro Board meeting in Los Angeles to show support for the Claremont station. Metro will establish a task force to look at how Metrolink, the Gold Line, and other transit services will complement each other to provide greater transit services along the rail corridor.

Thanks to our Claremont residents for a successful show of support throughout this process!

    Metrolink Station Study

On September 28, 2017 the Metro Board directed Metro staff to conduct a study of the Claremont Metrolink station and determine the impacts of removing the station. On December 11, 2017, the City of Claremont hosted a community meeting with representatives of Metro, Metrolink, Foothill Gold Line Construction Authority and the City. Metro presented the preliminary findings of the study and took questions and comments from the audience. The presentation and handout from the community meeting can be found below:
